I loved reading this piece. Such important reminders.

I wonder if you’ve ever thought of how the religious community prey on these kinds of ‘needing to perform being a better person’? Especially on social media/online spaces.

This was the best timing: I was thisclose to signing up for something, even messaged a friend “this is probably pointless but for under $50…..?”, then I got this and deleted the tab and also unsubscribed. Thank you.

As someone dealing with ongoing health issues & chronic pain, it’s easy to become preoccupied on healing my mind because I can’t heal my body. It’s my way of trying to control the circumstances I’m in (and partly blame myself for being in because what if I could done something to prevent my health issues??). All of this also screams Protestant work ethic & end-stage capitalism, which I am rationally against but find myself pulled into regardless. As you pointed out, sometimes, I just need to chill, do whatever feels most soothing, and clock out emotionally. Thank you for this reminder. Sending love and support to you during this difficult time.❤️
